At NPK we provide assessments for students ages 6 to 17 using up-to-date, standardized measures to develop a detailed profile of your whole child.
The neuropsychologist will work one-on-one with your child, visiting their classroom and administering all test measures, so we can get to know who they are and what cognitive, emotional and behavioral factors are contributing to any challenges they may be experiencing.
Areas assessed include cognitive processes; reasoning abilities; learning style; verbal, visual and working memory; auditory and visual perception and processing; processing speed; fine motor skills, listening comprehension, verbal expression, and executive functioning (EF) skills.
Executive functioning skills are especially challenging for many children because expectations have changed while their brain development has not. It includes skills like cognitive flexibility, planning and prioritization, organization and time management, sustained attention, emotional regulation, initiation and task completion.
If coaching is needed in executive functioning we will assist you in finding the right fit for your child.
If educational therapy is needed we will ensure their therapist understands the report findings and your child and if they require school modifications or special education services we will assist you in obtaining all you need to help your child feel successful academically, socially and behaviorally.
